Helms Construction · Since 2009

Document the storm damage you can’t see from the ground.

After hail or high winds, a roof can look unchanged from the driveway while individual components show damage. Helms Construction inspects physical roofing and exterior conditions and provides clear photographic construction documentation.

A clear construction plan

Start with the
actual conditions.

We look for hail impacts and wind-related conditions such as lifted, creased or missing shingles. The inspection also considers the roof details and exterior components affected by the same weather event. Observations are documented without assuming that every mark is storm damage.

Photographs and construction scopes help explain observed conditions and proposed repairs. They do not determine insurance coverage. If you have already scheduled a carrier inspection, we can coordinate or meet with the carrier or adjuster at your request as the construction contractor.

A whole-property inspection perspective

Relevant components may include more than shingles. The inspection scope depends on the property, observed damage and accessible areas.

  • Hail impacts and lifted, creased or missing shingles
  • Roof penetrations and flashing
  • Soft-metal components and related roof details
  • Gutters and downspouts
  • Siding and exterior trim
  • Window screens and other affected exterior components

Documentation that explains the construction work

Helms can photograph observed conditions and prepare estimates or scopes for the construction work. We explain what the inspection establishes, what remains uncertain and which repairs or replacement details are proposed. We regularly work on insurance-related storm restoration projects.

Our role is construction

Helms Construction is a contractor. We do not interpret insurance policies, negotiate coverage as a public adjuster, determine coverage or guarantee approval. Coverage decisions remain with the insurer under the policy. Coordinating an inspection at the homeowner’s request does not change that role.

If the home is exposed

Temporary tarping or emergency repairs may be appropriate while permanent work is planned. Let us know about active leaks or missing roofing when you call. Avoid walking on a damaged roof; access and weather conditions affect inspection and repair planning.
